Training-of-Trainers Course

The Training-of-Trainers (ToT) course is designed to prepare instructors from Central Asia and Afghanistan to deliver Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Explosive Hazards Awareness and Reduction Courses on a national and international level. The ToT is intended to equip prospective instructors with the understanding of specific training methods and methodologies for training adults as well as how to design, deliver, evaluate and follow-up training event.

Integrated Cooperation on Explosive Hazards Program in Central Asia

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Office in Tajikistan (OiT) facilitates regional cooperation and coordination in the field of mine action in Central Asia, predominantly focusing on but not limited to inter-military cooperation. This approach falls under the OSCE concept of comprehensive and cooperative security. One of the best examples of this cooperation is the OSCE extra-budgetary project, the Integrated Cooperation on Explosive Hazards Programme (ICExH), which has been running since mid-2013. The project received financial support from the governments of Austria and the Netherlands in the past, while the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM/WRA) has provided funding since 2014.

OSCE supports regional seminar on explosive ordnance disposal 3+/ Demilitarization Manager’s course in Central Asia

ALMATY, Kazakhstan, 18 October 2016 – A nine-day OSCE regional demilitarization manager’s training course for 30 military and civilian experts focusing on Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Level 3+ began today in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will enhance their managerial skills in adherence with specific requirements of international guidelines and best practices for the safe, effective as well as efficient demilitarization of conventional ammunition and explosives. Experts from Slovenia and the United Kingdom will share their experience and best practices in this field.
