Celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Mine Action Programme in Tajikistan

The Acting Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, Dr Tea Jaliashvili, participated in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Mine Action Programme in Tajikistan on 31 May in Dushanbe. Tajikistan’s National Mine Action Centre organized the event with the support of the Programme Office. The meeting brought together 150 members from the mine action community across Tajikistan. Participants highlighted achievements, successes and hardships that Tajikistan encountered during the rise, nationalization and development of the national mine action programme.

The meeting also served as a platform to accentuate the danger posed by mines to the states and people.
