On 1 October 2018, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe hosted Norwegian Ambassador to Central Asia, H.E. Ole Johan Bjornoy.
Ambassador Bjornoy met with the Executive Office and project staff of the OSCE Programme Office. The Ambassador was briefed about project accomplishments currently and previously funded by Norway, regional developments in Central Asia and related opportunities for co-operation.
Ambassador Bjornoy furthermore participated in a showcasing of the Office’s de-mining project and visited the OSCE Border Management Staff College. The importance of activities related to de-mining, border management and security, regional co-operation and above all the comprehensive approach to security reflected in the Office’s work were discussed. The Office expressed gratefulness to Ambassador Bjornoy for the extensive and on-going support of Norway to its work. Ambassador Bjornoy underlined Norway’s interest in continuing the fruitful co-operation in the future.
