Three-month English language course for officers of MoD
Following on the request from Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defense (MoD), the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe organized a three-month English language course for officers of MoD. The course, funded by the U.S. Department of State, was conducted from 30 June to 17 September 2021 in Dushanbe. The participants of the course included four officers-instructors of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) from Regional Explosive Hazards Training Centre of MoD.
The training was a part of the capacity-building efforts of the OSCE’s Integrated Co-operation on Explosive Hazards Programme (ICExH). The staff of the ICExH project worked closely with the English language instructor to ensure the lessons were interactive, incorporated humanitarian demining and EOD related terminology and met individual needs and skills of each trainee. The participants were provided with training materials - textbooks, dictionary and notebooks with e-lessons.
The OSCE POID supports the participating States in Central Asia and Afghanistan in addressing concerns and challenges stemming from explosive hazards in line with the OSCE Confidence and Security Building Measures.
